Columbus parks
A series of plein air studies “The walk”
Columbus Parks is a series of studies of cityscapes: city parks, architectural ensembles, and the Scioto River landscapes. The focus of my work is not only on the city's physical appearance, but also its cultural and historical heritage. By merging the urban environment with nature into a single space, I provide the viewer with an experience of nature and urban life. During my plein air sessions, I discover new vistas and perspectives of Columbus each day.
Gradually, I get to know its diversity, and I try to discover this city for myself. I assist the residents in acquiring a fresh perspective on their city, making it a priceless experience. My personal interpretation of Columbus, as an artist who has recently moved to the United States, provides a canvas for artistic exploration and understanding of my new home. The project consists of 50 life sketches in A5 format and 10 finished landscapes in A4 format, along with 2 in A3 format, of which 9 works remain in private collections.
